- Do I want to keep people from winning?

- Powerball hurts people. A lot of people. Especially the poor.
- Gambling isn’t the “only chance they have”, it’s a 5% tax on the poor. If people spent as much money on an S&P Index Fund as on gambling, they’d get a retirement nest egg.
- Almost everyone loses when they play Powerball.
- The miniscule fraction of Powerball winners probably fare worse than the losers.
